Sort of. If ever the phrase 'sublime to the ridiculous' could be applied to a player it is Paolo Wanchope, throughout his career he netted decent amount of goals in different clubs. He has couple flaws in his skills which i think influenced negatively on his chances becoming a major threat in european football. He was slow, he was selfish with ball, and he was pertty inconsistant through good amount of games. At times though he excells in finishing especially in 1-1 situations and has always been technical player full with twists and turns . He Knew where the goal and could make intelligent runs but again the fact that he was quite slow makes life easier for defenders. He gains decent speed but his acceleration is pretty sluggish. Dribbling and *tactical dribble are there because like i mentioned, he is selfish and almost every time prefers to go on his own and try his tricks. It usually doesn't matter where he has the ball, he always looks to beat people with trickery rather than playing the easy ball and building the attack in the ''normal'' way. Very good finisher in 1-1 positions. This doesn't make him score 20 goals/season it just reflects on his finishing skills. If you think about his shooting skills in overall, he has good accuracy, average power and good shot technique. So basically you should see lot of inside the box finishes and very seldomly outside the box strikes. Lines gives the chance of making well timed runs, but he's bound to be caught up because of his slow running speed. He deserves quite high attack, apart from his strength and decent turning/technical ability , one of his strongest points which has made him score so many over the years for club and country has been his ability to get into good positions, make the 'right runs' past defenders with very good off the ball movements.
