Nedved won the Ballon d’Or for the best European footballer of the year, in 2003. Nedved is known for his work rate, tireless runs and ability to score stunning goals. As a kid, Nedved joined TJ Skalna. Later he played for youth sides of RH Cheb, Skoda Plzen, and VTJ Tabor. In 1990,he joined the youth side of Dukla Prague. One year later, he made it to the senior side of Dukla Prague following impressive spell with their youth side. Nedved played 19 matches for Dukla Prague and scored three goals. In 1992,he joined Sparta Prague. Nedved helped Sparta Prague to win the last Czechoslovak League ,in 1993.Following the split of Czechoslovakia, a new Gambrinus liga came into existence in newly formed Czech Republic. Nedved helped Sparta Prague to win Gambrinus liga in 1994 and 1995.He helped them to win Czech Republic Football cup in 1996.During his stint with Sparta, he played in European competitions aswell. Nedved scored 31 goals in 136 matches for Sparta Prague. In 1996, Nedved moved to Italy and joined Lazio. He scored the winning goal against RCD Mallorca in the European cup winners’ cup final, which Lazio won in 1999. He won UEFA Super cup with Lazio in 1999.He was part of Lazio team, which won the Italian Serie A title in 2000.He, won Coppa Italia with Lazio in 1998 and 2000.He won the Italian Super cup in 1998 as well as 2000, with Lazio. Nedved scored 54 goals in 204 matches, for Lazio. In 2001, Nedved joined another Serie A club Juventus in a deal worth 41 million Euros. At Juventus, he was more of a playmaker. He helped Juventus to win Italian Serie A in 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2006.However Italian authorities stripped Juventus off their last two titles over match fixing scandal, and demoted them to Serie B. He helped Juventus to win Serie B and earn promotion back to Serie Ache was instrumental in Juventus runner up finish in 2003 UEFA Champions league final, though he missed out the final due to suspension. He won the European footballer of the year award aswell as Serie A footballer of the year, in 2003.He won two Italian Super cups with Juventus. He made it to the UEFA team of the year in 2003, 2004 and 2005.Nedved played 338 matches and scored 65 goals for Juventus. Nedved retired from club football in 2009. Nedved made his debut for Czech Republic while playing against Republic of Ireland in 1994.He was instrumental in Czech Republic’s runners up performance during Euro 2000. He became the captain of Czech Republic in 2000. He helped Czech Republic to qualify for 2006 World Cup. Nedved scored 18 goals for Czech Republic in 91 matches. He quit International football after the World Cup.
