Played 506 games for Penarol and scored 236 times. He is the longest serving player in Penarol’s history , he spent 21 years at the club. Whilst playing for his club Penarol he got to link up with fantastic footballers like Antonio Campolo , John Harley , Carlos Scarone and of cause the great Isabelino Gradin. At this time Piendibene and Gradin were amongst the greatest footballers in the world and without a doubt Penarol’s greatest. Piendibene had incredible shooting accuracy and was good with set-pieces , a very composed individual who seemed to play with all the time in the world. The legendary Argentine defender Jorge Gibson Brown referred to Piendibene as the “Maestro” and arguably Spain’s greatest ever goalkeeper Ricardo Zamora said that Piendibene was one of the greatest strikers he had ever seen.
