He had an outstanding career and played at Nottingham Forest, Arsenal, Manchester United and Sheffield Wednesday in the 1970s and 1980s. He is also notable for being the first black football player to represent England in a full international match. He had the dubious distinction of travelling to two World Cups 1982 and 1986 and never kicking a ball. His international career coincided with first Liverpool's Phil Neal and secondly with Everton's Gary Stevens. Better than both? Yes! Honours Nottingham Forest First Division Winner (1): 1977–78 League Cup Winner (2): 1977–78, 1978–79 European Cup Winner (2): 1978–79, 1979–80 UEFA Super Cup Winner: 1980 Arsenal League Cup Winner (1): 1986–87 Sheffield Wednesday League Cup Runner-up (1): 1992–93 FA Cup Runner-up (1): 1993 England 30 Caps Viv ANDERSON | 1979-1980 | PES Stats Database (Golden Era Backup)
