After scoring 65 goals for the Ipswich youth and reserve teams he found his way into the senior side where he would remain for 5 years as Ipswich under Bobby Robson began to make a noise in England's top league. Whymark was famous for scoring 4 goals in a game 3 times. On the 3rd occassion he was selected to play for England against Luxembourg coming on for Terry McDermott. Sadly though that was to be Whymark's peak as he got injured in that same season with ruptured knee ligaments and never the same again and left Ipswich soon after. Whymark later played for the Vancouver Whitecaps of the North American Soccer League, and made his mark on that team by scoring both goals in the club's 2 - 1 victory in Soccer Bowl 1979. Sadly yet another wasted English talent of the 70's thrown on the heap of injured stars whose careers were cut short by injuries. He scored 75 goals in 261 appearances for Ipswich from the SS position Honours Ipswich Town Texaco Cup Winner: 1973 Charity Shield Runner up: 1978 FA Cup Winner: 1978 (did not play) Trevor WHYMARK | 1977-1978 | PES Stats Database (Golden Era Backup)
