He had a successful career at club level, winning almost every domestic honour available with his clubs, most notably the treble with Manchester United. He was probably in his prime mid '90s for Tottenham Hotspur when he was recognized as one of the best strikers in the Premiership. Sheringham also represented England at international level and was part of the fearsome SAS strike partnership with Alan Shearer which shone at Euro 96. Teddy is known as one of the most intelligent forwards in football, he never had any real pace but he was faster in the brain than on his feet. He was excellent at linking up with players up the pitch, just dropping off the main striker finding spaces creating play and providing key passes, while at the same time was a great positional striker and an important goalscorer, especially for Spurs early to mid '90s. He finally retired last season at the grand old age of 42 and has scored over 300 goals in his professional career.
