He was plying his trade at Rosenborg in the early 90's when Liverpool became aware of his extreme qualities, he was by no means a complete player but his quality in defence and his long pass was probably why he had 139 appearances for Liverpool. He wasn't always a regular there, his pace and technical qualities was a hindrance, still Stig had one of the finest left pegs at the time in the PL (barring Stuart Pearce), he spent about 8 seasons at Anfield.
