Nicknamed El Checho, he started playing in the youth team at Argentinos Juniors, with whom would later win the Metropolitano and the Copa Libertadores 1985. In 1988 he moved to Club Atlético River Plate where he helped the team to win the 1989-1990 championship. Before retiring as a player Batista played for Nuevo Chicago and All Boys in Argentina and Tosu Futures in Japan. As part of the Argentina national football team he won the 1986 FIFA World Cup, and reached the final in 1990. _________________ Sorry for my bad English.
