He played 299 league games for Tottenham scoring 3 goals. He joined Tottenham Hotspur from Enfield in October 1952. He stayed with them until the end of the 1964-65 season, keeping a regular place in the team from the 1960-61 season until the end of the 1963-64 season. Baker like his fullback partner Henry preffered to shepherd people away from the ball yet his tackling was fearsome and he would encourage the others on. While he could do a simple accurate pass he would sometimes spray the odd long ball either to opposite wing or to his forwards, Smith, Allen, White and later Greaves. Like Henry he was not a ''star'' in the great Double side but just as important as any other team member. Peter BAKER | 1960-1961 | PES Stats Database (Golden Era Backup)
