Nicknamed ''Heidi'' is the second leading scorer of Chilean football, with 212 goals, three short of the mark Chamaco Francisco Valdes. He began his career with Deportes Valdivia in his hometown, before being traded to the Spanish Union where he remained until 1990, after a successful passage through Coquimbo Unido in 1991 and 1992, went to Cobreloa lines where he stayed until 1997. But his greatest success would come the following years, when in 1997 the pass was purchased by University of Chile. In his second year at university squad, was fourth in the Chilean league scorer with 15 goals being sub-champions and Cup holders Chile. The year 1999 was his best season, when he won the championship in a spectacular season with only 3 games lost, in that season, ''Heidi'' was the top scorer and ranks alongside Sergio Vargas. In 2000 repeat the successes majoring Cup winners and League Chile, where he was top scorer again this season. In 2001 would come out for the second consecutive tournament as top scorer, but could not the title. Selection Chilean (NT) In 1987 he joined the U-20 team which won an outstanding fourth place in the Youth World Cup played in his country, scoring a goal in the final game.
