This was the role he fulfilled in Sweden 1992, where he warmed the bench through all games to see Peter Schmeichel cap off his tournament with one of his career's greatest performances in the final against Germany. Krogh did still manage to conjure 10 caps for Denmark over a period between 1992 and 1998 and was also a part of the squads travelling to the European Championship in 1996 and the World Cup two years after. But Krogh's greatest footballing triumphs did of course come with Brøndby IF, whom he joined from Ikast fS in 1991. Never having his position threatened, he managed 353 games for Brøndby and a single goal. And what a goal it was: going into the last rounds of the 1995/1996 season, Brøndby were playing a game of cats and mice with AGF, the other title contender. They met in a decisive game in the third-last round of the season and one of the best Superliga games ever saw AGF take a 3-1 lead with minutes to go. Brøndby pulled a goal back and in the very last minute, with their first championship since the club almost bankrupted itself in the start of the 90's following a failed investment in banking hanging by a thread, Mogens Krogh joined a last corner kick attempt. The ball almost went over the goal line, having just been touched by Krogh - but a desperate last-ditch effort saw the ball turned back into play and thrown into the penalty area once more where Krogh yet again rose above everyone else to power home a header which ultimately set Brøndby on course for the title. In his time with Brøndby, he managed to win three championships and two cup trophies. As a keeper type, Krogh was very agile and ultimately relying on his reflexes. He wasn't as consistent as other goalies, but this came to view in a few weak games rather than horrifying goalkeeping errors. He also had a knack for saving penalties at important moments, here thinking of one against Tenerife CD in the 1996/1997 UEFA Cup and five years later against FC København in a derby which saw Brøndby take a ten-point lead at the top of the table. Very agile save against Herfølge THAT goal against AGF - second in the video after the bicycle kick _________________ I am probably not going to be on this forum very much anymore - but send me a PM if you have any requst or enquiry and I will be notified.
