Bode is Werder’s most successful Bundesliga-scorer with 101 goals. He was a versatile player, who could go from a forward to a rather nice SM, altough not so classy, but effective. He could also play as a sort of link between SM and SB, sort of like a defensive WB, but that was in the weirdest of cases. He was heavily built and had great poaching abilities. He played for Werder Bremen for over 14 years and with them he won a Bundesliga title (1992-93), a UEFA Cup Winners Cup (1992), 3 Bundesliga Supercups (1988, 1993, 1994) and an Intertoto Cup (1997-98). He is regarded as one of Werder's 6 best captains of all times. With Germany he also had decent performances. He was capped 40 times for the German side, scoring 11 goals and he was part of the team that won the European Championship in 1996. Another interesting fact: He was never sent off with a red card, and in all his career he was only booked 10 times. Enjoy! _________________ Our ancestors created fire...it changed humanity.
