He's remembered as one of Athletic's most consisstant player of all times, being the fourth player with most games played for the Red-White team in history. His debut was in 1950 and stayed loyal to his colours until 1968, when he retired His marking over the best wingers and forwards of la Liga (including D'Stefano or Gento) earned him a well diserved reputation of a hard man, but never forgetting his sporting responsabilities, was a truly genius in the cut, always tryin' to get the ball as cleanly as possible. Really inteligent and sober-minded sideback. He was the classic all-around defender of the 50's, he used to go from the sides to the center in a matter of seconds, securing Carmelo's end and allowing Garay to go up, confident that he'd let a wall behind him to stop any rival's intent of attack, Orue was there to take charge, always, and always putting the team's interest first. Orue wasn't the bit interested in attacking roles, he scored only one goal in his 17 seasons at San Mames, but his contribution to Athletic's 1rst class defense of those days was instrumental to secure one Liga and 4 League Cups, including one final against the almighty Real Madrid of the late 50's, his marking on Gento was spotless. He died in 2007, due to heart complications, but he received his honour game in 1971, between Athletic Club and West Bronwich Albion, a small gesture, compared to all the greatness this player gave the team of his life.
