He represented Argentina at the 1974 World Cup. Wolff, born in the city of Buenos Aires, began his career with Racing Club in 1967. He played for the club until he was transferred to River Plate in 1972. During his time at Racing, Wolff became a firm crowd favorite. In 1974 Wolff was transferred to UD Las Palmas in Spain, and 3 years later he joined Spanish giants Real Madrid where he was part of the championship winning sides of 1977-1978 and 1978-1979. 'Quique' was a classy and elegant player. Refined technique, both defensive and offensive, he was able to do a perfect cross or steal a ball sliding, to make a 'dribble or a long pass to the other side of the field.
