He scored two goals in the Champions League Final of 1994 against FC Barcelona, which Milan won 4-0. He was also Milan's top scorer in Serie A in 1993/1994 season, helping them to the title. Surprisingly capped only 15 times for Italy, his international career actually spanned more than a decade (1982-94); he played for Italy at the 1994 FIFA World Cup. He also played in the J-League with the Shimizu S-Pulse. He was also the captain of the Italian Beach Soccer National Team for a couple of years. Along with Franco Baresi and Roberto Baggio, Massaro missed a penalty kick against Brazil in the 1994 World Cup in the shootout which cost Italy the title. Massaro also missed a one-on-one opportunity in the same match. He currently works at AC Milan, in the public relations department, as a PR manager.
