At the start of the 1978/79 season he moved to FC Porto trained by José Maria Pedroto, entering in one of the most important national club. Truth is that playing for Porto would throw Frasco definitely to starlet in Portuguese football, winning national and international titles, and representing the National Team regularly. There would be 11 consecutive seasons at the service of the blue and white team where he was part of teams filled with great players and trained by staff of national and international reputation. He includes a generation of FC Porto players like João Pinto, Lima Pereira, Jaime Pacheco, Sousa, André, Gomes, Futre, among others, who were forever linked to the history of the invicta city’s main club. On his debut season serving for FC Porto in 1978/79, Frasco won his first title of National Champion. José Maria Pedroto handed a first team place to the young Frasco of only 23 years old and played at the highest level during that season. He was the only one to play all the games for FC Porto in the National Championship of 1978/79, aligning all the 30 matches and pointing 2 goals. This states weel the contribution of Frasco for the success of FC Porto. Contribution which was duly rewarded by the Directors of Porto that offered him an apartment. Frasco standed out as a center midfielder of low height, thin but with big delivery and spirit of sacrifice. It was a real tick in defense, tough enough and with a physical capacity which gave much acutilância the team’s football. Frasco stood out mostly for his ball retention, becoming for this feature crucial to the possession of the ball. He was also very skillful in conducting the offensive game. He reached the Portuguese National Team for the first time on 17 October 1979 in a game against Belgium in Brussels in Heysel Park, for the European of 1980 qualifiers. In his first cap, Frasco was on the bench, entering to the post of defense Eurico Gomes. Frasco completed 23 caps for the Portuguese NT during the 8 years that he was regularly summoned. He scored only one goal, in a friendly game against Belgium at Estádio 1º de Maio in Braga, held on February 4 of 1987, in which the Portuguese won by 1-0. The highest point of his career in the course selection was the presence in Europe from France in 1984 where Portugal spread the perfume of the Portuguese football on the french pitches. Frasco is part of the team from Portugal which brilliantly classified 3rd place in the main proof of teams in Europe. For Porto, in 1983/84 Frasco won his second individual title with the victory of FC Porto in the Portuguese Cup and again the following season won the National Championship of the 1st Division now with Artur Jorge at the helm. Honours • Portuguese Champion (4) - 1978/79, 1984/85, 1985/86, 1987/88 • Cup of Portugal (2) - 1983/84, 1987/88 • SuperCup Cândido de Oliveira (3) - 1982/83, 1983/84, 1985/86 • European Champions Cup - 1986/87 • European Super Cup - 1987/88 • 234 matches and 14 goals for Porto _________________ ''My heart only has one colour: Blue and White!!
